The Story of Hollowhaven

Thunder Cats Ho!!!!

After having quite the interesting encounter with a baby brown dragon (which Sylas is interested in locating again), we came to the wonderfully vibrant and wooden town of Thundera. Getting directions from a nice man, we located the location of Lion-O’s Chapel.

Talking with Lion-O, we learned of the way to best Maelcor, The legendary Sword of Omens. Forged by the descendants of Angels(??), this sword, along with its sister sword, the Sword of Plun-Darr, grant immense power to the wielder. Unfortunately, Maelcor has the Sword of Plun-Darr, so our quest leads us to get the Sword of Omens to combat him. Lion-O knows that the cultists of Cthuhlu are close to finding the sword in the Arrakis desert.

During our time in Thundera, many of us pick up cute/fearsome animals coughpokemoncough. We set off with Lion-O accompanying us. Random fight against wolves.

Crazy people questing onward

Our group made it back to civilization, saving Areneial in the process. We learned from the female that to get to Maelcor, we needed to find a man named Filvendor, and he was last seen in the city of Bregrove. Heading out in that direction would take us decently close to another city, Fiore, where one of our group members, Flynn, had some personal issues to attend to. We grabbed supplies and headed out.

On the way to that city, we encountered a one eyed monster, which took a greataxe to my shoulder. We killed the beast, and I stole its weapon. A week’s journey and we made it to the Fiore, besides the cyclops, unharmed.

Some arguably stupid decisions in town, and a few good ones, ended up getting us the information we needed. Fiore was being controlled by a local gang called the Ogres. The leader of this group, a man by the name of James, was an acquaintance of Flynn’s past. We also learned that the town had an arena, being used by the ogres to execute parents of known rebels by making them fight each other to the death. We avoided telling Flynn this until we absolutely had to.

We went to the next arena fight, and I jumped into the arena butt naked screaming bloody murder with my new axe as a distraction so the rest of the group could take care of James, who was in the “rich people” box watching over the arena surrounded by guards.

I lost track of time, but I started tasting blood in my mouth from all the screaming before Maverick retrieved me and told me of what happened. I only partially paid attention, but it seems that another friend of Flynn, Durthan, was also present in the box, and he killed himself to solve the problems between Flynn, James, and the town. The Ogres were disbanded, and our group stood poised, ready to head out to Filvendor.

On a side note, my new friends seem to have some serious social and mental health issues I may need to address before continuing. Or not, I don’t really know how much help I could be. Oh well. My love for bread may have to be enough for now.

Prison Break

As Edwams speech came to a close and questions were directed to him about the Returners the situations seriousness became apparent as we quickly dispatched two assasins. Agreeing to join and bringing the assasins in for questioning we recieve word of a possible informant, Seni located at the Purple Rooster. After finding him and agreeing to a brief battle of wits and some gold coins later, he informs us that there was a person who traveled with Malcor named Areneial, and that she was being held at Greybrook. Gaining momentum we then report back and begin plans to aquire a map of Greybrook from one of the guards. Meeting Ansten our morals get the better of us and we change plans to stealing a map off of a drunken guard. Making the treck to Greybrook on foot we come upon a child who has been seperated from his father and we make for his house to find out more. After dealing with a Will-o-wisp and returning him to his father we continue. We arrive late the next day at Greybrook and begin our infiltration of the place. Scaling up the tower and dealing with guards we arrive at a series of challenges. The first of which was dealt with easily and the second one was a well thats water would turn to stone whatever came in contact with it. After discovering a key and carefully submerging it we opend the final door to Areneial’s cell. Quickly using a cure light potion we bring her back to stable health and begin our escape. Distracting the guards we lower ourselvs down and put as much distance between Greybrook and us as possible before letting ourselvs relax and set camp.

Picking up again on March 16

First Time

The first session – and we will probably redo most of it because Flynn(Tyler) is the only one who really interacted with anything.
The players are in the city of Hollowhaven for various reasons.
The players find themselves in a large crowd watching a man give a speech about the evils that the tyrant Maelcor has committed since he came into power and even some of the evils before coming into power.
After the speech ended Flynn went up to the man, who we know find out is Edwam, a member of the Returners – a group dedicated to overthrowing Maelcor.
This is basically where the session ended, although Flynn did learn a little more information about Maelcor and the Returners. I would write down what Flynn found out, but none of the other characters were there to witness it.
